In the year 2008, musician and singer Paddy Noonan collaborated with a Chicago poet, MC Rydel, to create a new radio station "by musicians and for musicians." Paddy recruited over 500 artists to join a new, underground movement and Internet radio station called Radio Free USA.
The original artists quickly established a loyal and international audience, and they created a virtual venue that every artist desires: free radio airplay with no middleman!
The idea caught on. By 2009, the audience grew so quickly that Paddy upgraded the site while keeping it free, and he launched the second phase of this independent musician revolution. He called it IMRadio.
Now with over 10,000 artists from 75 countries playing over 50,000 songs, IMRadio has tripled its size and now ranks as one of the most popular Internet radio stations on the web. The Indie Revolution continues, and the next phase is under way. Watch for innovations and creative new ways for artists to get their music, spoken word and comedy performances to a worldwide audience at IMRadio.
