GO WITH ME: Second Chance
Reviewed by John Lee of INNER VOICE MAGAZINE
Second Chance, is the second offering by Indie
crossover band, Go With Me. This eclectic
collection of 15 tracks (that’s right, 15!) tells
the stories of love and heartache (mostly
heartache), life and its struggles, and God’s
grace (in the form of second chances).
All the songs are original compositions by
songwriter/bassist Bob Idakaar. Idakaar teams up
with friend and multi-instrumentalist Bruce
Gatewood, vocalist Rich Ortiz, and a talented team
of accomplished musicians to record this
collection of rock/folk-flavored songs (with touch
of reggae) geared for the “seasoned” listener. For
those of us who grew up listening to classic rock
before they became classics, this album offers
listeners their second chance to relive that
musical era (minus the negative messages).
Produced by Idakaar and Gatewood, this album
flashed me back to shades of Neil Young, Eric
Clapton and even Bob Marley.
Ortiz’s lead vocals, a cross between Paul
McCartney and Eric Clapton, really shine in the
inspirational piece, “Calm Water,” one of the
standouts on this album. The recording quality is
superior, as you can hear the acoustic instruments
and vocals burst through brilliantly. On the
inside sleeve of the CD cover, Idakaar thanks God
for his second chance at life and music. He
certainly made the most of it here with this
wonderfully produced CD.
The Bottom Line:
John: Master musicians who offer their own mature
(and family-friendly) brand of rock with a
positive message.
Delia: I appreciated the variety of sounds on this
album… some gentle and peaceful while others
lively, passionate, and spirited.
Jim: A very high quality production… My favorite
track is “Calm Water.”

TELL EVERY ONE ABOUT
IMRadio -- Got to
thinking. What if each of
us independent musicians
told our family, friends,
fans and acquaintances
about IMRadio.com, how
besides the main
stations, it has stations
for each of the states
individually, 52
countries, and just about
every musical genre --
reaching any internet
connection around the
world. We could tell them
in person, on the
internet or at small or
large venues. Anyone we
tell would appreciate the
convenience of such good
music from independent
musicians on their
computer. It would be
such a good way to help
all of us reach even more
listeners. With IMRadio,
we aren't just waiting at
the mercy of some major
label to decide whether
or not they will let us
be heard around the
world. There are enough
of us that the outreach
could be exponential.
And, wouldn't it be a
great way to say 'thank
you' to Paddy and all of
the other fine folks who
have put IMRadio.com on
the world's musical map.
They have put in money,
time, energy and
dedication, and all they
have asked of us in
return is to upload our
music and profile. I am
sure that they have great
plans to publicize
IMRadio and bring it to
even more listeners. In
the meantime, through,
wouldn't it be great if
we could all help a
little by just taking a
little time each day to
tell family, friends,
fans and acquaintances
about IMRadio. It
wouldn't cost a dime,
just a little time.
Yours, in Musical
Solidarity, Paul.
