About Us:
After a couple of years developing
their music skills, they met Tiago B.
a local and very talented drummer and
officially formed OYF. Solo guitarist
Ed Marson joined the band months after
an occasional conversation in a bus
terminal in Sao Paulo. The band was
now getting shaped.
The band realized that they needed
horns and keys, so Ricardo Pires
(saxophone) and Nando Morsani (piano)
were asked to join the team by Ed
Marson (ex guitarist), who was
studying at Souza Lima/ Berkeley and
personally knew both, and introduced
them to the rest of the band. From
that point on it became a professional
project.
On stage, the band sticks faithfully
to the recorded material, but since it
is a jazz influenced group, the open
solo sections brings the live act to a
different atmosphere so well performed
that it could easily be part of the
studio recordings.
The random use of uncommon instruments
in a rock band such as a clarinet,
accordion, mandolins, banjos, and a
piano together with the classical
formation of drums, bass, and electric
guitars, drags the listeners to a new
multiple instrumental proposal.
In 2011 OYF played in important venues
in Sao Paulo like Na Mata Caf
