McCarter, from Petersburg, VA was discovered via the artist / music site Reverbnation. Hailing from Virginia, Katelyn McCarter has lived a life enriched with various aspects of performance. From a young age, Katelyn has taken every presented opportunity to explore her natural musical impulses, becoming heavily involved in her church choir, where she discovered she was meant for music. Katelyn’s love for performance and talent in music was apparent to her family, who supported Katelyn’s creative inclinations, encouraging her to study voice, piano and dance. Her studies paid off – Katelyn racked up numerous music achievements as a child and teen, standing out as a uniquely talented young vocalist in various competitions. “This is hard to put into words, it’s so exciting,” says the 24 year old singer on becoming new indie label Dreamin’ Out Loud Entertainments’ flagship artist. “We are very proud and very excited to have finally found our flagship artist after nearly a four year search. It was their first visit to the Midwest and the beginning of many more visits to come. Highlights of the visit included meeting the staff of Outpost Worldwide, the video production firm that will produce many of Katelyn's music videos, and taking a tour of the facility. Katelyn and her mom, Deborah McCarter, owner of the ModVinTique Design and Consignment store in Colonial Heights, VA also enjoyed a visit to Kansas City's own Gates BBQ. "Kansas City, in many ways is very similar to Petersburg, VA" said the singer and her mom.
