It began like this on a gray afternoon. A living room jam session was recorded and subsequently stashed away for several months. There was talk of possible collaboration between each musician that mingled that night but talk is cheap and pipe dreams are a dime a dozen. However, there are times when bottled creativity reaches its boiling point. Occasionally, one cannot help but rebel against the apathetic aggression that plagues our planet. Hence, the recordings resurfaced and two like-minded musicians decided to come together and listen to what their muses had been whispering about all along. Guitarist and sometimes lyricist, Mark, composes a myriad of melodies and draws upon many sources of instrumentation to bring each piece to its completion. Jami Kali writes words, plays with their sounds and meanings, and sings the sweet yet sinister tunes. When they come together, something close to magic takes place. The muse moves effortlessly through the thick smog of mechanized mishap. Though the malady floods the face of the deep, she swims through polluted streams, separating the survivors from the sickened. Mock Sun, phantom of the sacred Star, shines- and the muse knows she has finally been heard. The inspiration for this message and sound comes from a respect for the beauty that exists in the world despite the perpetual forces working against it. The urge to communicate this message also stems from intense feelings of unrest with regards to humanity
