ABOUT NORTH STREET GOSPEL
LEROY {DICK} KERSEY----- BORN IN
UPSTATE, NEW YORK STATE
ONE OF TEN CHILDREN.
MARRIED AT THE AGE OF 24 TO PATRICIA
IN 1967
THEY HAVE TWO CHILDREN AND ONE
GRANDSON.
LEROY WAS NOT BLESSED WITH MUSICAL
TALENT
LIKE MOST OF HIS FAMILY.
HE TRIED HARD{AT THE AGE OF TWENTY
FOUR}
TO SING AND PLAY GUITAR,
HE GAVE UP HIS DREAM OF PLAYING AND
SOLD HIS GUITAR.
AT THE AGE OF FIFTY SEVEN HE STARTED
HIS WALK WITH THE "LORD".
IN APRIL OF 2002 HIS WIFE SIGNED HIM
UP FOR UKELELE LESSONS
AT THERE CHURCH.
AFTER THREE WEEKS OF CLASSES AND
KNOWING ONLY THREE CORDS,
LEROY WAS READY TO GIVE UP AGAIN.
"THE LORD HAD ANOTHER IDEA,"
A FRIEND OF THE KERSEY'S
THAT ATTENDED THE SAME CHURCH,
CAME AND PRESENTED LEROY WITH AN
INSTRUMENT
CALLED A "BARATONE TIPLE"
{HE TELLS EVERYONE IT'S
CROSSED BETWEEN A UKELELE AND A
MANDOLIN}
THIS LITTLE "ONE OF A KIND" HAND MADE
INSTRUMENT"
HAS EIGHT STRINGS AND FITS INTO A
VIOLIN CASE.
ONE WEEK OF RECIVING THIS AWESOME
LITTLE INSTRUMENT
LEROY WROTE HIS FIRST SONG, THANKS TO
THE GOOD LORD ABOVE
HE NOW HAS [124] SONGS AND IS STILL
WRITING.
MOST SONGS ARE CLASSIFIED AS COUNTRY
GOSPEL---
WITH A BLUEGRASS SOUND".
HE ALSO HAS A FEW COUNTRY SONGS MIXED
IN.
ALL OF THE SONGS ON THIS SITE HAVE
BEEN
WRITTEN AND SUNG BY LEROY,,
BUT KEEP IN MIND NONE OF THIS COULD
EVER BE
IF IT HADN'T BEEN TOUCHED
BY "THE GOOD LORD ABOVE"

Well hi! Leroy you sound
a little like my self.
Yeah picked up the guitar
aged 40 wrote hundreds of
songs. Then left it alone
for another 20 years.Well
lost everything I owned
and loved back then. I
have nothing now only my
faith and my guitar. God
bless you. Keep playing
and singing. From London
UK
Hi guys, the instrument
on my pic is a sitar, an
Indian instrument. It has
a lot of strings but you
only play on one string,
the others just swing in
the background. The most
difficult thing is to
tune the instrument.
There are different
tunings like e. g.
Morning Dawn etc and that
really takes a lot of
time.
THANKS FOR THE
FRIENDSHIP. MAY GOD BLESS
YOU FOR ALL YOUR GOOD
EFFORTS.
Hi there. Great songs. I
particularly like "The
Road Map." Best wishes.
Graham.
Love this type of music
and you guys do it well.
Thanks for being a fan
Leroy. Right back at ya'
my friend. "I'm so
Lonely" -- nice!
TELL EVERY ONE ABOUT
IMRadio -- Got to
thinking. What if each of
us independent musicians
told our family, friends,
fans and acquaintances
about IMRadio.com, how
besides the main
stations, it has stations
for each of the states
individually, 75
countries, and just about
every musical genre --
reaching any internet
connection around the
world. We could tell them
in person, on the
internet or at small or
large venues. Anyone we
tell would appreciate the
convenience of such good
music from independent
musicians on their
computer. It would be
such a good way to help
all of us reach even more
listeners. With IMRadio,
we aren't just waiting at
the mercy of some major
label to decide whether
or not they will let us
be heard around the
world. There are enough
of us that the outreach
could be exponential.
And, wouldn't it be a
great way to say 'thank
you' to Paddy and all of
the other fine folks who
have put IMRadio.com on
the world's musical map.
They have put in money,
time, energy and
dedication, and all they
have asked of us in
return is to upload our
music and profile. I am
sure that they have great
plans to publicize
IMRadio and bring it to
even more listeners. In
the meantime, though,
wouldn't it be great if
we could all help a
little by just taking a
little time each day to
tell family, friends,
fans and acquaintances
about IMRadio. It
wouldn't cost a dime,
just a little time.
Yours, in Musical
Solidarity, Paul.
