About Us:
Elisete
Elisete the Israeli-Brazilian
Singer, composer and song writer,
released her first album 'Luar e Cafe'
(Moonlight & Coffee) in April 2004 and
the second album 'Gaagua' (Longing) in
March 2006. Her album 'Elisete-
Remixes' was released in 2007 and it
has songs from her previous acoustic
album in remix versions. Her new
acoustic album 'Minhas cores' (My
colors) will be released this year.
Elisete is an independent artist who
believes that talent, optimism and a
lot of hard work will take her to the
place where she wants to be.
The story in short
Elisete was born in Brazil and came to
Israel in 1991 directly to the Gulf
war that was the background for the
period when she acquired her Hebrew.
Her life story is a long Saga with
optimistic conclusions. Elisete says
she sings to bring joy to the Israeli
people. Cynics reading this
declaration will laugh. Cynics hearing
her say it will be engulfed by her
magic and believe it. With this drive
and with her energy and joy Elisete
sings about life in the most Israeli
perspective and also the most
Brazilian one. The lines of Elisete
have warmth, simplicity and a lot of
love. Her voice and rhythm take us to
her unique Brazil that is always in
her heart.
Elisete – Yam (Ocean)
Anyone liking Elisete's songs can be taken by them
to a great distance of emotion and imagination. In
Yam (Ocean), the third single from 'My colors' –
her third acoustic album - Elisete takes us on a
journey in an sea of longing and yearning – an
imaginative and yet real ocean. It is the sea that
rolls to the shores of Israel and also the magical
sea of the beaches of Rio de Janeiro and Bahia in
Brazil. Beyond that ocean waits the loved one –
distant, mysterious, part real, part imaginary.
The melody of the song join the lyrics to sail us
on it's waves away from Israel to the far places
of the exotic South American scents.
Yam continues the line of romantic and lyric songs
that characterizes a great part of the album. The
sounds give an Israeli feeling but one can also
feel the lyric charm of Brazil reflected from the
simple words and the emotions of the songs.
About the album 'My colors'
The album is planned to be released in about two
months and it was produced by Israeli-Brazilian
producer Avi Levin together with Elisete, Roni
Ben-Ezra and Ron Laor as co-producers.
The album was recorded half in Israel and half in
Brazil and since Elisete feels half Israeli and
half Brazilian then the album is also half in
Hebrew and half in Portuguese.
About Elisete
Elisete came to Israel 19 years ago and during
these years with a combination of talent,
determination and quite a bit of stubbornness she
built herself an international name and impressive
performance capabilities. She is a Diva in the
most positive sense of the word because she is a
great performer and also a modest, warm and
lovable person.
Because of the special combination between her
Brazilian essence and soul and her Israeli
identity Elisete is a cultural bridge between
cultures both in the metaphoric sense and in the
practical sense. Elisete functions as an Israeli
cultural ambassador in her show tours abroad
because in addition to her shows she lectures
about Israel and tells about her great love to the
country.
Elisete is a multi-talented artist and works in
various fields: She writes music for films and two
of her songs are in the sound track of the Israeli
film 'Haboua' (The bubble). She creates fruitful
collaborations with creators of electronic music
in Israel and abroad and she has songs in several
compilations worldwide – a remix of 'Capoeira'
entered a compilation in France and 'Luar e cafe'
from the first album 'Luar e cafe' entered a
compilation of Bossa Nova in Taiwan and China.
Elisete does also musical production, produces
events and of course creates her original music
that she writes in a variety of rhythms and styles
that are as different, colorful and diverse as is
Elisete herself.
Elisete gets excellent reviews also outside of
Israel and she is perceived as an excellent and
unique combination between Brazil and Israel.
Elisete's music is played and talked about a lot
abroad and songs from Electronic projects done in
collaboration with producers from around the world
were played in the 2009 Carnaval in Bahia, Brazil.
An entire chapter was dedicated to Elisete in the
Brazilian book "Mulher brasiliera em primeiro
lugar" ritten about Brazilian women that succeeded
outside of Brazil.
