Steed is a multi-instrumentalist
songwriter. His style can be defined
as pop-rock, however his influences
are such that his music embraces lots
of different nuances, from prog-rock
to electronica. He defines his own
style as "prog-pop", if that makes
sense ;)
He likes to mix guitar riffs with good
ol' fat sounding synths blending pure
rock elements, funky grooves, dramatic
melodies with several layers of
ambiental synths.
His sounds have been compared by his
fans to such different personalities
or bands such as David Bowie, The
Dandy Warhols, Genesis (waow, THAT's a
compliment!), Porcupine Tree, and so
on...
Another important aspect of Steed's
music is lyrics. Lyrics are of the
utmost importance to him when it comes
to crafting a song. His lyrics always
have a story to tell, a rage to
express, an amazement to sing or a
protest to share. His lyrics are based
on real life, on his observations, on
his own questioning about things of
the universe, on love, on unlove, on
social injustice and on everything
that moves him.
